Chamber Launches New Program: Speaker's Bureau

There are a vast array of Chamber Members with expertise in their particular field who are willing to share their knowledge with other groups. The Chamber saw an opportunity to create a special website section geared toward connecting these speakers with other businesses who might have a need for their knowledge. The Chamber Speaker's Bureau features available speakers and lists pertinent information such as speaking topic, objectives and benefit to audience. Each listing also links to the company website of the speaker, a short bio and contact information. The speakers are organized into the following categories for easier searching capability: Business Growth & Skills, Insurance, Marketing, Social Media, Travel, Website and Work/Life Balance. 

Here are some helpful tips on ways to choose a speaker for your next engagement: 

Think of Your Budget 
Although it’s certainly not the most fun to think about, you have to think about money when it comes to your event. And being that you have to think about money, it’s important to be realistic about what you can afford. 

Think of Their Expectations 
Think about your audience and what they prefer to get out of the event and conference. Why are they attending? What would their reaction be to the keynote speaker you choose? Keep in mind that they are going to want to get a certain kind of takeaway from the event and also the speakers. 

Think of Entertainment and Engagement Value 
The content of the speech can be good, valuable content—but will it be engaging? Will it entertain the audience? This is something you seriously must consider when choosing a speaker. 

What is the Speaker's Experience?
