Chamber to Honor J.C. Boggs of King & Spalding with Wallace Johnson Award for Community Service; Award to be Presented at Annual Dinner on March 12

Each year, the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce gives awards to notable individuals in the community. The Wallace Johnson Award for Community Service honors someone who has given significant​ ​contributions​ ​of​ ​time, talents​ ​and​ ​dedication​ ​to​ ​the​ ​community. This year's award will be presented to J.C. Boggs!

Coming from a family with deep roots in Delaware, J.C. Boggs is a partner with the international law firm of King & Spalding and a resident of its Washington, D.C. office.  Recognized by Chambers USA as “one of the most proficient attorneys on the scene,” he represents financial services and technology firms before Congress and the executive branch and leads the firm’s state Attorneys General Practice.  J.C. regularly interacts with U.S. financial regulators on matters pertaining to global and mobile payments, marketplace lending, crowdfunding and cryptocurrency.  He also represents technology and innovation companies in their public sector outreach relating to data privacy and cybersecurity, e-government, public policy and regulatory compliance.  In 2009, J.C. was appointed by the President to the World Bank's International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes.  J.C. is past chairman of the board of Jobs for Delaware Graduates, and continues to serve as pro bono general counsel to Jobs for America’s Graduates.  He established the J. Caleb Boggs Scholarship for Public Service at the University of Delaware in honor of his grandfather and namesake, former U.S. Congressman, Senator and Delaware Governor, J. Caleb Boggs.
