Childcare Post COVID-19 Shutdown

Childcare Post COVID-19 Shutdown

As Delaware enters Phase Two of its reopening, many parents will start returning to work. After months of being home, while also juggling the educational needs of their children, families across the state are beginning to enter their new normal. Morning commutes to the living room and children listening in on conference calls are giving way to more harried routines for moms and dads. This means the need for quality childcare centers is once again a priority for those parents who weren’t deemed essential workers in mid-March.

As part of Phase Two, Governor Carney is allowing childcare centers to reopen at 100% capacity. This decision brings me great joy. I’ve firmly believed it was imperative childcare providers be allowed to accommodate additional children in proportion to the increasing number of parents allowed to return to work. It’s undeniable that working parents unable to secure quality childcare bear an even greater risk of losing their job.

I’ve dedicated my life’s work to early childhood education. I am fully committed to protecting, educating and nurturing the children, teachers, and families who make Celebree Schools special. Today, as we begin emerging from quarantine, it is important that we continue to keep employees and children safe while providing the fun, engaging environments kids and their parents count on. This means strictly following the guidelines put in place on group sizes, social distancing, and cleaning protocols.

With restrictions starting to lift, parents may naturally feel more overwhelmed with returning to work or uncomfortable with the idea of allowing their children to return to daycare. Our teams recognize just how important it is for parents to feel reassured and confident that childcare centers can provide an environment where their children can learn and play safely, now more than ever. Celebree Schools throughout Delaware and Maryland are equipped to take on the challenges associated with the pandemic. From heightened sanitary measures within our schools to helping children overcome learning loss, we are prepared to navigate this new world with our families.

Environments like the ones provided by Celebree School promote lifelong behaviors that demonstrate curiosity, empathy, kindness, respect and self-confidence, as well as a desire for continued learning. In our schools, certified teachers spend hour after hour preparing to care for children and teaching them the skills they need for lifelong success. We look forward to welcoming all children back into our centers so that they can once again find the socialization and stimulation so many of us missed during the stay-at-home orders.

And what is summer without camp? Celebree School offers camp for children in kindergarten – fifth grade. Each summer, our schools embrace a themed, learning-focused camp program. With special safety guidelines in place, children can still have a season packed fun activities that impart knowledge, while embracing the joy of summer. You can learn more about our summer camp offerings here.

As additional states move deeper into reopening and lifting restrictions, a growing number of children will need early education services. Parents select Celebree School because they know it’s more than a place where their child is cared for from morning to afternoon, it’s a community.
As the fight against COVID-19 continues, we are dedicated to providing Delaware families with a safe and engaging environment for their children.
