Habitat for Humanity - Brush With Kindness Breakfast

Changing Lives and Landscapes in New Castle County.

Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County welcomes your support of the “Brush with Kindness Breakfast”. The event will be held Thursday, May 9th at 8:00 am at DuPont Country Club. Designed to celebrate Habitat’s “A Brush with Kindness” critical home repair program, the breakfast will highlight Habitat’s role in revitalizing and beautifying homes and neighborhoods.  The Brush with Kindness Breakfast Committee is chaired by Khristian Toolan, the NCC Chamber Ambassador of the year.
If you have always wanted to volunteer with Habitat, but are not partial to swinging a hammer, this may be the opportunity you are looking for. Designated volunteer table captains are charged with inviting nine friends, colleagues or family members with the heart to help to join them in attending the event. “Breakfast is on us” explains Director of Development, Julie Karavan, “But we hope that our homeowner’s stories will inspire attendees to make a contribution to Habitat. If you are interested in stepping up to make a difference in New Castle County, please contact Habitat at
302-545-2815 or email mpocta@habitatncc.org by March 15th.”

Sponsorship opportunities are available and include exclusive levels and promotional opportunities. Sponsorships at the $2,500 level and higher include a table of 10 guests. Please go to http://habitatncc.org/events/ and click “Sponsor the Breakfast” to view complete details of how you can be involved and how your business can benefit from this sponsorship.

Invited guests will be given the opportunity to sign a beam to be installed in future Habitat homes.  Additionally, local artists & Habitat supporters such as Cheryl Titcher and Daphne Bradley have agreed to adopt a donated item from Habitat’s popular ReStore to reimagine & repurpose. Artists will be featured in the Brush with Kindness Breakfast program. “Completed pieces will be included in the September 19th Habitat Golf Outing Auction at Hartefeld” says Karavan. “Habitat revitalizes. We will see the “before” at our breakfast and then see the difference that every hand can make at the “after” at our September Golf Outing.”

Thanks to support from JP Morgan Chase, Habitat NCC is assuming a leadership role in Wilmington serving not only as a provider of critical home repairs but a coordinator of services for homeowners in need of assistance.  A key goal of Habitat’s “A Brush with Kindness” Program is to ensure that homeowners are safe, warm, and dry. Habitat helps qualifying homeowners with repairing or replacing roofs, furnaces, windows and doors, assisting residents to enjoy and remain stay in their homes, long-term.
Habitat for Humanity New Castle County is also an approved charity in the Neighborhood Assistance Act Tax Credit Program. Your qualifying contribution may be utilized to apply for a Delaware state tax credit equal to 50% of your gift. Personal charitable contributions of $2,500 or higher from individuals; and charitable gifts from qualifying businesses of $10,000 or higher, may be eligible.
