Members In Action - Brandywine Technology

Chamber Member organizations across the state are answering the call to support the coronavirus (COVID-19) response effort.

Brandywine Technology has been giving back to the community during COVID-19. Brandywine Technology, Vice President began making masks for her sister, an ER nurse, who works at Christiana Hospital. Word spread quickly on the need at the hospital for the doctors, nurses, and other staff members due to the shortage of masks and using the same masks for 7 days.

The sisters dug out their sewing kits, used fabric they had collected throughout the years and began making masks.  Al they needed is to purchase the elastic and fusible interfacing.  As they produced the masks they washed, sanitized, and placed them in plastic bags with a note. Off they went for delivery!

As supplies started to run out, folks began asking how they can help, but needed instruction on how to sew.  So, they reached out to their communities and asked for donations of fabric, elastic, and fusible interfacing.  The community outreach was positive!

As they continued their efforts in making masks, they heard of the need for local nursing homes.  As numbers were being reported of more people becoming ill with COVID-19, and to wear a face masks, our Vice President started reaching out to our customers, employees, friends, and extended families that needed masks.
Our President and Vice President of Brandywine Technology teamed up and started a production of masks for anyone that needed masks at “no charge”.    So far, since production began, over 300 masks have been donated!  Brandywine Technology has sent several masks to customers, as well as, their spouses who are doctors, nurses, employee family members, including their Grandparents, and Parents.  Brandywine Technology has received several requests from some customers who are required to work onsite.

They will continue to make masks at no cost to give back to the community and try to keep everyone healthy and safe. Brandywine Technology is grateful to all of those who are putting themselves at risk, and the community first.
