Chamber Member organizations across the state are answering the call to support the coronavirus (COVID-19) response effort.

DuPont Community Impact/Experimental Station. DuPont’s COVID-19 assistance in Delaware over the past several weeks, DuPont has proudly supported its Headquarters community in the following ways.

PPE donations for frontline healthcare workers:

  • 2,500 Tyvek® coveralls were donated to the State of Delaware
  • 220 gallons of DuPont-produced hand sanitizer was donated to the Christiana Care Hospital System, to help protect frontline healthcare workers and patients.
  • 820 reusable face shields were produced using DuPont-owned 3D printers and filaments, to help protect healthcare workers at A.I. duPont Hospital for Children and Christiana Hospital. DuPont is making 600 approximately shields per week, to meet a total request of 4,000. This was a collaboration between DuPont and Nemours.
Funding donations to the nonprofit community:
  • Corporate donation made to the COVID-19 Rapid Relief Fund (managed by the United Way of Delaware)
  • Corporate donation made to the COVID-19 Strategic Response Fund (managed by the Delaware Community Foundation)
Other assistance:
  • DuPont is accelerating and simplifying its annual community grant-making cycle for those grantees serving the “basic needs” of those who are most vulnerable, to ensure they may continue their critical work during this extraordinary time.
  • DuPont investigated N95 mask sterilization through heating technology, at the request of DEMA, to potentially assist care providers facing N95 mask shortages with reuse options.
  • A DuPont subject matter expert is serving in an advisory capacity to the COVID-19 Rapid Relief Fund and COVID-19 Strategic Response Fund teams.
