Description
Without a plan, taxes can destroy the growth trajectory of any business. Never fear taxes again. Make your tax worries disappear for your business by building the best possible tax strategy and finding the best accountant for your business. Small-business tax preparation must be combined with quality consulting if you are going to succeed as an entrepreneur or business owner. In this workshop you will learn ways to save and invest that will generate income for your business. Our speakers will advise you tips on making the most on rebates and deductions for your business, tricks of the trade to help save on taxes, and ways to invest and save through tax cuts and deferred taxes (e.g., opportunity funds). They will also teach you how to read your financial statement (profits, losses, cash flow, assets, and expenses) and how it equates to your business. As well as what to look for when hiring a new accountant.

Myunghee Geerts Bio:
Myunghee is a principal at Cover & Rossiter. Prior to joining the firm in December 2018, she was senior manager at Ernst & Young. She specializes in assisting clients with tax planning strategies, i.e., R&D credit, Qualified Business Income Deduction, Opportunity Zone, and accounting method change, to reduce their tax liabilities and mitigate risks associated with tax returns.
Growing up, Myunghee had the opportunity to observe first-hand what it takes to successfully operate a small business, as her dad was an entrepreneur. Her lifetime passion for helping small businesses and entrepreneurs created an opportunity for her to organize and chair the “Big IDEas for Your Business Conference” in May 2018.
Myunghee is a member of the Audit Committee of the Delaware Symphony Orchestra. Previously, she served as Chair of the Delaware Society of CPAs’ Board of Directors, was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ Council and served on the Board of Directors of the Delaware Symphony Orchestra.
Myunghee has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Michigan State University and an MBA from the University of Delaware. She is a Certified Public Accountant in Delaware and Pennsylvania and frequently speaks on tax planning at workshops.
Earl Jeter Bio:
Earl has over 20 years of experience in accounting, taxation and financial services. He served two City of Wilmington Mayors as the City Auditor conducting internal audit and fraud investigation. Earl served as a Chief Financial Officer of a nonprofit organization and helped turn the organization from a deficit to a surplus. He served as financial manager of a major uniform cleaning company in Delaware. He worked for the Internal Revenue Service and has over 10 years of experience working for various accounting firms in Delaware/Pennsylvania region. Earl is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Global Management Accountant. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and I his MBA in finance at Wilmington University. Earl is a Member of the AICPA, Delaware Society of CPA, Institute of Management Accountants, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
Eric MacCollum Bio:
Eric is a principle accountant with Hudak and Company with locations in PA and DE. His focus is on privately held business focusing on their bookkeeping, payroll, tax, and consulting needs. He is a frequent speaker on industry topics as well as an adjunct professor of accounting at Delaware Technical Community College.
