Job Description
An Account Technician is typically new to the Agency and insurance industry. An AT is responsible for learning the insurance business, processing policies, and assisting Account Managers (AM) and Advisors in backend work. ATs help gather client information for various insurance needs.
 
Discretionary responsibilities will be assessed by management and include, but are not limited to:
  • Handles all phone calls and walk-in activity by clients, carriers or others, limits wait time
  • Provides technical support to Advisors for coverage-related items, proposals, suspense items etc. to assist client needs and reach agency's business goals; aim to meet Advisor’s deadlines/service needs 100% of the time
  • Accurately prepares proposals and applications, submits them to insureds and carriers, obtains clients' signatures, follows up to ensure timely responses, all in conjunction with Advisor
  • Accurately prepares summaries of insurance schedules and proposals for account review
  • Assists renewal team in gathering information in a timely fashion; follows up as necessary to ensure deadlines are met, assists with remarketing, contacts clients and follows-up in conjunction with Advisors, renews policies in accordance with agency standards
  • Assists AMs in handling remarketing and endorsements, follows up with client, QC, and carriers as necessary throughout the process
  • Assists AMs, Advisors, Accounting and QC in handling cancellations using cancellation code (CNOC) in Epic, while tracking reasons for cancellation in Epic
  • Documents electronic files accordingly so all files and notes are accessible for anyone servicing the account
  • Corresponds daily and maintains open communication with Advisors, AMs, QC and other Commercial Lines team members to ensure clients are serviced accurately and timely
  • Contributes to a positive, team atmosphere
  • Assists or completes other tasks as directed by agency management
