Job Description
The New Castle County Chamber of Commerce is looking for a Communications/Content Manager to join our highly collaborative team.

Responsibilities include:
  • Ongoing updates and maintenance of the Chamber Website
  • Write and post content for social media channels and website
  • Develop an annual communication strategy
  • Integrate web and social media into the overall marketing and communications strategy
  • Develop communications plans to support specific Chamber events throughout the year
  • Support event promotion via the creation/distribution of flyers, email communications, social media and post event coverage
  • Develop, write, and produce public relations, marketing and advertising material to build the chamber’s profile with its members and the community
  • Monitor web traffic and social media, providing reports to the Chamber President
  • Write and distribute news releases as needed and maintain media contact list
  • Write talking points for the President
  • Be available to attend events – days and evenings as needed
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.  A degree in journalism, communications, public relations or related writing-intensive field preferred
  • Preferably at least 2 years of experience related to the types of responsibilities listed above

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels of the organization
  • Proven knowledge of social media platforms
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • A commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex issues into simple yet meaningful writing
  • Demonstrated ability with regard to graphic arts
  • Must have active driver’s license and a vehicle to travel in performance of assigned duties when necessary
