Addiction: Help is Here Website
The newly revised “Help is Here” website will feature updated and additional information on prevention, intervention and treatment and recovery, easier navigation, and new videos from individuals in long-term recovery, parents who have lost adult children to overdoses, a treatment provider and a police officer. DHSS wants all Delawareans to know about the website, to share it and to use it. When HelpIsHereDE.com was first launched in October 2014, it was the first of its kind in the country to provide one-stop shopping for statewide information, education, and resources on substance use and abuse issues for people suffering from addiction, their families, the community and medical providers.
Delaware, like much of the country, is experiencing an addiction
s epidemic. In 2016, 308 people died from overdoses in Delaware, as compared to 228 overdose deaths in 2015 and 222 deaths in 2014, according to the Division of Forensic Science. Of drug overdoses in Delaware, up to 80 percent of them may involve one or more prescription drugs.
