Environmental stewardship is at the very heart of the NaturaLawn® of America mission. NaturaLawn® president, Phil Catron founded the company in the 80s as a response to the traditional, chemical lawn care companies that were using pesticides irresponsibly and polluting our waterways. He knew that there had to be a way to deliver quality lawn care while remaining environmentally responsible.

NaturaLawn® of America and partner company Mosquito Ranger® are fully dedicated to providing quality lawn care and outdoor pest control that is safer for people, pets and the environment. Over a five-year study, NaturaLawn’s methods prevented more than 12.5 million pounds of high-salt fertilizers and 5 million gallons of pesticides from entering into our water and soil, without sacrificing lawn quality. Mosquito Ranger uses a combination of natural control materials including plant extracts, natural botanical oils and bio-rational products for mosquito control to minimize environmental impact. These companies consider environmental responsibility a fundamental part of their missions.

NaturaLawn® of America and Mosquito Ranger® continue this tradition by helping clean up our local community.  Every spring the Christina Conservancy hosts the Christina River Watershed Cleanup which is a crucial effort to keep our waterways clear of debris. Not only does this event help restore the natural beauty of our local landscape, it also creates safe wildlife habitats and helps keep our water safe for consumption. The Christina Watershed provides more than 75% of the water supply for residents and businesses in New Castle County.

Last spring NaturaLawn® employees volunteered their time to help clean up the creek along Naamans Rd in North Wilmington. Dozens of trash bags were filled with candy wrappers, soda cans, old clothing, an old, rusty bike as well as a multitude of other items that do not belong in a waterway. “The experience was both rewarding and humbling for all of us” said employee, Greta Huber “and we're looking forward to helping out again this spring.”

This year's cleanup is on Saturday, April 14 from 8 AM – 11 AM. Anyone interested in participating can register online at
