Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County is steering more affordable homeownership opportunities to qualified Delawareans using the nationwide Cars for Homes™ vehicle donation program. Through Cars for Homes, vehicle owners may donate their cars, trucks, boats, motorcycles, RVs, and more to Habitat, which then sells them through auctions, recyclers, or salvage yards to raise funds that support decent, affordable housing in our community. Through September 2020, the Cars for Homes program has already raised nearly $95,000 for our affiliate—your donated vehicle could help us break $100,000!

In the United State, recycling cars keeps a huge amount of steel out of landfills—enough to build nearly 45,000 steelframed homes every year. Additionally, the energy saved each year by recycling is enough to power approximately 18 million homes! We are proud to partner with Cars for Homes to not only support affordable housing, but also reduce our footprint on the Earth.

Cars for Homes collects donor contact, title, and vehicle information and, upon acceptance of the donation, arranges to pick up the vehicle, keys, and title. Donors receive an acknowledgement letter for their donation and should consult their tax advisor for deductibility information Interested vehicle owners can find more information by calling Habitat for Humanity Cars for Homes at 1-877-277-4344 toll free, or online at habitat.org/support/donate-your-car.
