Sherm's Catering Helps the Community #DELstrong

How time flies! This June marks the 10th anniversary at Sherm’s Catering. My team and I are deeply grateful for this past decade and owe our success to the support of local community members and businesses. Organizations such as the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce deserve special recognition, as they empower struggling startups and small businesses with the necessary tools to thrive. I am proud to be a member of NCCCC.

I also feel honored to pay it forward. Sherm’s Catering sponsors, offers discounts, and gives back to organizations, community groups, and startup companies—mostly local and even a few on the national level.

In 2017, we donated to Autism Delaware, POWER, the National Guard, NCCCC, Hope Street, Easter Seals, Preston’s March for Energy, Pacem in Terris, the Ken Simpler State Treasurer campaign, the Horn Program at University of Delaware, Blood Bank of Delmarva, Middletown Area Chamber of Commerce, The Delaware Contemporary, TeenSHARP, and the Bellefonte community, in addition to local food drives, numerous beef-and-beer events, and other giveaways. For the past 6 years, I also have had the opportunity to help prepare and cook Thanksgiving meals for more than 1,600 people at the Sunday Breakfast Mission. It has been so fulfilling.

In addition, we donate annually to organizations including Special Olympics Delaware, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, Man & Woman of the Year with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, March of Dimes, Green and White Scholarship Ball with Wilmington University, Fraternal Order of Police, and New Castle County Police.

It is humbling to be in a position to give back. At Sherm’s Catering, we look forward to many more years of success—not only for our own businesses, but also for the incredible organizations that deserve everyone’s support.
