The Commonwealth Group Announces New Health Center
Today The Commonwealth Group announces the introduction of The Delaware Center for Health and Wellness, a new 40,000 square foot, state-of-the-art medical office building, located at 620 Churchmans Road. Slated for completion in August of 2018 and situated less than two miles east of Christiana Health Care’s Stanton campus, this three story brick and glass structure will feature the latest innovations in medical office design, including an energy efficient building envelop, LED lighting, HVAC, and high-end Class A finishes.
In addition to lead tenants The Birth Center of Wilmington, Partners in Health and Wellbeing and Performance Physical Therapy, the Center is excited to introduce Integrative Care Delaware: Center for Health and Research (ICD). An advanced collaboration of multiple stakeholder-practices focused on providing patients with access to care from a multidisciplinary, integrative treatment team that will supplement traditional healthcare with complementary and research supported healthcare.
Says ICD co-founder Jan Roberts Rudzinski, “The mission of ICD is to provide integrated and complementary health services as well as educational opportunities to our patients and to the community at large while conducting research to continually enhance the effectiveness of our services. Healthcare organizations The Birth Center, Partners in Health and Wellbeing, and other healthcare providers from across Delaware are affiliating with ICD to deliver integrated healthcare services and to improve health outcomes for the patients we serve.”
Services provided by ICD include
As the first true integrated care center in Delaware, ICD will focus primarily on creating a unified model of healthcare delivery rather than siloed and unidisciplinary healthcare which characterizes our current health system. ICD's unified model will include primary care, gynecologic and obstetric care, behavioral healthcare, chiropractic care, physical therapy, nutritional counseling, yoga and other mindfulness-based and evidence-based practices.
Although our primary focus is on clinical services, ICD will also provide community outreach programs to improve the health and wellbeing of the community at large. A variety of educational resources will be offered, including web-based instruction, books, seminars and
retreats. The long-term goal is that ICD will become a center providing cutting-edge integrative healthcare, educational resources, community healing, and medical research regarding best practices for maximizing patient wellness outcomes.
Don Robitzer, COO of project developer The Commonwealth Group adds that the concept is to create an environment where like-minded medical practitioners can collaborate in a state-of-the-art facility with excellent access from all areas of New Castle County. “We are committed to identifying “Best in Class” providers to join our existing practice base so that we can bring healthcare treatment into the 21st century”.
