Member Spotlight: Kristin Knowlton, Business Development Manager for Brandywine Technology

Professional History and Experience:
Brandywine Technology is a technical staffing company providing IT talent to the Delaware Valley for over 20 years. President and CEO Joel Pierson purchased the company in 2005 and is an integral part of the daily operations.
Kristin has been at Brandywine Technology for over two years but has serviced customers in the banking and payroll industries for many years prior.
Those who are not familiar with staffing company offerings include finding and placing technical talent for short and long-term projects in conjunction with recruiting and placing technical people on either direct hire or contract-to-hire basis. Brandywine Technology also has a Virtual Bench of talent for customers who have short-term projects requiring specific technical expertise. Brandywine Technology's differentiator is that each employee has their technical background and expertise. Ironically, there are not too many specialized staffing companies in their industry that are…well, technical. The account management and recruiting teams, as well as leadership, have technical and consulting backgrounds. "Comprehending the customers' technical needs is vast – and quite the advantage over for their competitors" said, Knowlton.
"We go beyond recruiting technical talent. We consult with our customers to identify the right technical solution or people for their needs. Whether it is a contract, contract-to-hire, or on a direct-hire basis, we advise our customers on what we would do both technically and fiscally to find the right solution for their needs" said, Knowlton. Knowlton also shared that revenue has exceeded over $110 million in previous years and hopes to continue this upbeat momentum for Brandywine Technology.
Brandywine Technology volunteers its time in various ways, such as the Adopt a Highway program, and helps customers coordinate remote access for contractors and their employees. "As a local community member, we bonded with our customers, our vendors, and our competitors and worked to help anyone that needed work. I'm proud of how our local community worked together and unselfishly gave up time and resources to keep people working," said Knowlton. Also, Vice-President Kim McColgan began making face masks during the pandemic to donate to the community and their clients.
Brandywine Technology partners with Tech Forum of Delaware, Tech Impact, Delaware SHRM, and NCCCC. Kim McColgan, Vice-President of Brandywine Technology, was also nominated for the HR Innovator Award through Delaware SHRM. Congratulations, Brandywine Technology, for all the great work and being a leader in our business community!
Chamber Experience:
Kristin re-joined the Chamber in 2019 when she became part of the Brandywine Technology team. "I wanted to continue the relationships I had established over the years when I was with previous companies. This enabled me to keep my strong business and personal relationships going and make new relationships. The Chamber is a big part of my work life" said, Knowlton.
Kristin has been a member of the Fortune Referral group for several years. Kristin recommends, "if you have the opportunity to join one of the Chamber's referral groups, I strongly recommend you do so."
Personal:
Kristin enjoys spending time with her husband Craig, daughter Addison (7), and new puppy Bear. Kristin is an avid runner and loves the outdoors!
Words of Encouragement from Kristin:
"Always stay in touch with your networks. It seems like such a simple thing, but it amazes me how many people appreciate me staying in touch with them – even if it's a simple e-mail or voicemail."
