The COVID-19 pandemic has created unprecedented challenges for employers in workforce retention and legal compliance. All employers have been impacted in some fashion or another, and there are additional issues for those who employ foreign workers on visas. This webinar will guide employers with respect to the impact on temporary and permanent visas for foreign workers. Closely related employment law issues will also be  discussed. Topics to be covered include:

  • Impact of the April 22, 2020 Executive Order regarding suspension of visas for employment based permanent residence and exceptions
  • Issues in I-9 compliance due to remote working
  • Furloughs, layoffs, change in worksites and reduction in hours for foreign workers

Susie M. Cirilli is a Labor & Employment attorney that assists clients with issues involving the ADA, FMLA, and Title VII claims.
