Description
Delaware’s 130,000 school-age children will be our future employees, colleagues, and service providers. They may even be our own children. And these children are being educated in our current age of incredible opportunities and massive challenges: spectacular technology and severe complexity, incredible wealth and intense poverty, and amazing knowledge and insight challenging dire gaps in our educational system. What is challenging education in Delaware? Why should we remain confident in our school system? The Moderator: Michael O’Toole, Principal La Salle College High School The Panel: Dusty Blakey, Superintendent, Colonial School District Honorable Chandlee Johnson Kuhn, Director Work-Based Learning, Delaware Technical Community College Victoria Yatzus, Head of School, Independence School This diverse panel will discuss the Delaware educational system’s most pressing challenges and celebrate that system’s most vibrant successes. Let’s take one step, together, towards better understanding the hurdles we face in delivering the quality education our workforce, our communities, and our families all need. And, let’s recognize the hurdles this system has already overcome.
