Delaware’s Own ''Reel Families for Change'' to Launch 2025 BIPOC Artpreneur Training Program for Arts Enterprises in the First State
Delaware, January 6, 2025 – Reel Families for Change (RFC) is proud to announce the launch of its BIPOC Artpreneur Training Program for 2025.
Tailored to meet the needs of creative professionals who operate as freelancers or micro-business owners, the program helps them navigate the unique challenges of the arts industry’s “feast or famine” cycles.
In addition to comprehensive lessons around entrepreneurship, business management, marketing, and financial planning, participants will be equipped with access to case studies, templates, marketing guidelines, and other supplemental materials to grow sustainable and successful arts-based businesses.
This year, RFC is excited to welcome the Delaware Small Business Development Center (SBDC) as a technical partner. SBDC staff will deliver expert curriculum instruction and facilitate the program’s office hours. These office hours, in addition to the Center's traditional consultations, will offer laser-focused strategic support for participants, allowing them to resolve specific challenges identified during the program and set graduates up for greater business success.
Thanks to the generous contributions of donors and sponsors like The Laffey-McHugh Foundation, the Delaware Office of Supplier Diversity, and the Delaware Divison of the Arts, this 10-week business acceleration program is available to help BIPOC creative entrepreneurs scale their skills into profitable enterprises, free of charge.
For those who complete the program, projected outcomes include:
Strengthening skills in essential business areas such as financial management and strategic marketing.
Providing the knowledge and resources to build profitable arts-based businesses within the unique "feast or famine" cycle of the creative industries.
Helping entrepreneurs navigate the intersection of creativity and commerce, ensuring sustainable growth and long-term success
Fostering a supportive network for mentorship, peer collaboration, and community-building.
The program will run from Wednesday, February 5, 2025, through Wednesday, April 9, 2025, in a hybrid (in-person/online) format.
A pre-enrollment info session will take place on Wednesday, 8 January 2025 at 6 PM Eastern. Interested individuals can learn more about the program's offerings and expected outcomes. Enrollment will close on Friday, 24 January 2025, at 11:59 PM Eastern.
