Del-One FCU’s Commitment to the Community

On Monday, October 13th, 2025, Del-One Federal Credit Union celebrated its’ 4th Annual Community Service Day! On this day, over 190 teammates gave their time, talent, skills, creativity, and muscles to ten different organizations throughout the state of Delaware. These organizations included: Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity (ReStore in Dover), Fort DuPont in Delaware City, Modern Maturity Center in Dover, Mamie Warren Senior Center in Smyrna, Sunday Breakfast Mission in Wilmington, Food Banks of Delaware in Newark and Milford, Rose Hill Community Center in New Castle, Redstone Ranch in Dover, La Esperanza in Georgetown, & The Vero in Newark.

Del-One teammates spent their day at these organizations assisting with everything from cleaning, organizing, doing crafts with residents, cleaning out horse stalls, pulling up carpet, helping pack food for the ‘backpack’ program for area children with food insecurities, making garden boxes for vegetation, and so much more. Teammates shared it was hard work, but they were motivated by the bonding experience with co-workers and enjoyed the feeling of being able to give back to the community in so many ways. The Volunteer Manager for Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity, Hannah Kyriss, expressed gratitude with our team that had the tough job of ripping up carpets in the ReStore warehouse. She stated these efforts helped in many ways including making transporting furniture easier, eliminated the risk of trip hazards, and “presented an opportunity for a fresh start to reform and reorganize the warehouse to better fit our growing needs.”

Del-One Federal Credit Union President and CEO, Dan McCarthy stated, “we are proud of our community, and we are here to give back in ways that truly benefit the members we serve. It’s not just what we do – it’s who we are.”
