WILMINGTON – DANA, the Delaware Alliance for Nonprofit Advancement, is proud to announce the promotion of one of its longest-tenured staff members.
This month, DANA promoted Melissa Hopkins to Executive Vice President & Chief External Affairs Officer. Previously, Hopkins served as Executive Vice President of Sector Advancement.
In her new role, Hopkins will continue to lead DANA’s government affairs and philanthropy initiatives, cultivate strategic partnerships, guide research efforts, and oversee the Delaware Nonprofit Action Network. She also manages key staff in the areas of development, engagement, public policy and advocacy.
“Melissa has been invaluable to DANA,” said DANA President & CEO Sheila Bravo. “She is a strong leader and a fierce advocate for Delaware’s nonprofit sector, whether it’s spearheading a new initiative or ensuring passage of laws that strengthen nonprofits. We’re excited that she has taken on this new role and responsibilities to help lead DANA into the future.”
Hopkins joined DANA in 2017 and brings a long career in public and community service, including roles with New Castle County, the State of Delaware and Rodel Foundation of Delaware. She has also volunteered with the YMCA’s Youth in Government program for more than a decade.
