Thère du Pont to Keynote at Chamber's Annual Dinner on March 12

The New Castle County Chamber of Commerce 2018 Annual Dinner will be held on Monday, March 12 at the Chase Center on the Riverfront. The theme of this year's Annual Dinner is "Building Strong Communities."  The Chamber will be celebrating the great works that our member businesses contribute to help build a stronger community and wil also look to the future for the pressing challenges that our community faces.

This year's Keynote Speaker will be  Thè're du Pont, President of the Longwood Foundation. Thère is President of the Longwood Foundation, a private foundation principally supporting charitable organizations in the state of Delaware and southern Chester County, Pennsylvania.  He currently serves on the boards of WSFS Financial Corporation and Burris Logistics and is an ex-officio member of the DowDuPont Board.  At WSFS, he is the Lead Director and Chairs the Governance & Nominating Committee.  He has been on DuPont’s Board since 2006 where he chaired the Audit Committee for five years and has served as a member of the Science & Technology, Governance, and Compensation Committees (at various intervals). He is Board Chair of the Community Education Building in Wilmington.  In 2007 and 2008, he served as Senior Vice President, Operations and Chief Financial Officer of drugstore.com, a leading online provider of health, beauty, vision and pharmacy products.  Prior to that, Mr. du Pont served as President and Chief Financial Officer of Wawa, Inc., a chain of food markets on the east coast.  He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s in Business Administration from Stanford University.
