Description
For most people betting on sports and playing video games are harmless forms of entertainment. But for some, sports gambling and gaming are serious problems, and may be devastating to them as well as their loved ones. Recently people in Delaware and nationwide have seen a dramatic expansion of sports betting and a marked proliferation in gaming, especially among our youth. For this reason, the Delaware Council on Gambling Problems will devote its 3rd Annual Problem Gambling Awareness Conference on Sports Betting and Gaming.
Our speakers include a former NFL player and a former NCAA Division 1 athlete, both in recovery from gambling addiction; a successful entrepreneur who overcame gaming disorder to develop the world’s largest support community for video game addiction; a nationally certified gambling counselor and board certified clinical consultant who provides treatment specific to sports gambling addiction; and Athletic/Compliance Directors from Delaware State University, University of Delaware and Villanova University who will discuss the impact of sports betting on college athletes and game integrity.

collegiate coaches, compliance directors and athletic advisors;
school teachers, counselors and administrators; social workers; recovery specialists and all those interested in learning about problem gambling and gaming.
Delaware Certification Board approved this program for 5.5 hours of CEU credits.
