By joining us now, you’ll be a foundational part of a company that’s poised to transform the landscape of advanced materials science and nanotechnology.    Position Overview    We are seeking a driven Engineer with expertise in advanced manufacturing and high-precision system assembly. You’ll collaborate with our CEO and Chief Manufacturing Officer (CMO) to design, optimize, and implement scalable production workflows while contributing to Sindri’s long-term vision of automation and process innovation.    Key Responsibilities    - Design, build, and refine high-precision manufacturing and processing systems.  - Develop, organize, and maintain engineering drawings and CAD-based designs for mechanical and process equipment.  - Utilize CAD software (SolidWorks or similar) to create, modify, and optimize component and system designs for scalable manufacturing.  - Defined equipment specs, coordinated procurement with suppliers and manufacturers, and managed installation for seamless integration.  - Develop and integrate automated production systems to improve scalability and reproducibility.  - Optimize and troubleshoot processes for reliability and quality control.  - Stay informed about advancements in manufacturing and integrate innovative solutions into Sindri’s processes.  - Collaborate closely with the Research Scientist to refine production methodologies and ensure alignment with R&D goals.  - Develop clear and comprehensive SOPs and safety procedures to streamline operations, ensure consistency, and create a safe operating environment.    What You Bring    - Mechanical Engineering Expertise – Strong knowledge of mechanical design, manufacturing processes, and materials engineering.  - Process Optimization Skills – Experience improving manufacturing efficiency, automation, and scale-up methodologies.  - Data-Driven Problem Solving – Proficiency in analyzing process data, implementing design of experiments (DOE), and using engineering software (e.g., CAD, FEA, MATLAB, Python, etc.).  - Hands-On Experience – Comfortable working with prototyping, machining, fabrication, and mechanical testing in a lab or pilot-scale environment.  - Collaborative Mindset – Ability to work in an interdisciplinary startup environment with engineers, scientists, and business leaders.  - Startup Mentality – Adaptable, hands-on, and excited to tackle complex challenges in a fast-moving, pre-revenue company.    Qualifications    Required:  - Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.  - 2–5 years of experience in precision manufacturing, instrumentation development, or production process engineering for materials science, microfabrication, or automation-driven industries.  - Proficiency in cleanroom protocols, and CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks).  - Experience in designing and organizing engineering drawings for fabrication and assembly  - Programming experience with PLCs and familiarity with coding for automation.  - Highly organized, analytical, and meticulous in documentation and execution.    Preferred:  - Hands-on experience with batch or continuous manufacturing techniques.  - Knowledge of electromechanical devices (e.g., sensors, actuators).  - Experience in scaling lab-scale processes to production.    Work Environment & Schedule Expectations    - This is a full-time, in-person position based in Wilmington, Delaware.  - Sindri Materials fosters a high-performance, results-driven environment, prioritizing efficiency over exhausting work hours.  - While this role requires commitment, we emphasize productivity and meaningful contributions over excessive hours of unfocused work.    Compensation & Perks    - Competitive salary, commensurate with experience.  - Potential for future equity participation and advancement as the company grows.  - Flexible work environment and rapid career advancement opportunities.  - Access to cutting-edge manufacturing tools and facilities.  - Potential for professional development and conference participation.  - Exclusive access to Delaware Innovation Space amenities, including:   - Free on-site gym and wellness facilities.   - On-site cafeteria with fresh meal options.   - Private and open office spaces, conference rooms, and coworking areas for collaboration.   - Gated campus with 24-hour security for a secure and focused work environment.    How to Apply    Excited to push the boundaries of advanced materials and manufacturing?
