By joining us now, you’ll be a foundational part of a company that’s poised to transform the landscape of advanced materials science and nanotechnology.    Position Overview    We are seeking a motivated Research Scientist with expertise in materials characterization, process optimization, and R&D for advanced materials. You’ll play a critical role in developing and refining UHQ graphene methods and processes, collaborating closely with our CEO, Dr. Christopher DiMarco. This role offers the chance to grow with Sindri while contributing to technologies that will impact multiple industries.    Key Responsibilities    - Conduct R&D on 2D materials, focusing on material characterization, process optimization, and prototype development.  - Design, execute, and analyze experiments using advanced analytical tools such as SEM, AFM, and Raman spectroscopy.  - Stay informed on emerging technologies, peer-reviewed research, and industry advancements in materials science, nanotechnology, and graphene applications.  - Work closely with the Engineering team to develop scalable processing techniques, minimize variability, and ensure high reproducibility and yield.  - Contribute to the preparation of research papers for peer-reviewed publication and support grant-writing efforts, either internally or in collaboration with external partners.  - Maintain meticulous documentation and contribute to organizing shared databases.  - Contribute to the evolution of Sindri’s processes as we expand into broader applications like semiconductors and renewable energy.    What You Bring    - Passion in Advanced Materials – Deep understanding of material properties and their applications in manufacturing.  - Analytical & Experimental Rigor – Strong problem-solving skills with proficiency in data analysis, experimental design, and process modeling.  - Lab & Technical Experience – Skilled in material characterization techniques and manufacturing methods.  - Collaborative Mindset – Ability to work in an interdisciplinary startup environment with engineers, scientists, and business leaders.  - Startup Mentality – Adaptable, hands-on, and excited to tackle complex challenges in a fast-moving, pre-revenue company.    Qualifications    Required:  - Ph.D. or Master’s in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related discipline.  - 2–5 years of hands-on laboratory research experience in advanced materials, 2D materials, nanomaterials, thin films, surface science, or electronic materials.  - Strong background in nanofabrication, characterization techniques, and microscopy (e.g., SEM, AFM, Raman).  - Proficiency in coding for automation of lab tools or analysis workflows.  - Detail-oriented, collaborative, and highly organized.    Preferred:  - Experience with graphene research or 2D materials.  - Knowledge of cleanroom protocols and processes.  - A proven track record of peer-reviewed publications or conference presentations.    Work Environment & Schedule Expectations    - This is a full-time, in-person position based in Wilmington, Delaware.  - Sindri Materials fosters a high-performance, results-driven environment, prioritizing efficiency over exhausting work hours.  - While this role requires commitment, we emphasize productivity and meaningful contributions over excessive hours of unfocused work.    Compensation & Perks    - Competitive salary, commensurate with experience.  - Potential for future equity participation and advancement as the company grows.  - Flexible work environment and rapid career advancement opportunities in an emerging field.  - Access to cutting-edge research tools and facilities.  - Potential for professional development and conference participation.  - Exclusive access to Delaware Innovation Space amenities, including:  - Free on-site gym and wellness facilities.  - On-site cafeteria with fresh meal options.  - Private and open office spaces, conference rooms, and coworking areas for collaboration.  - Gated campus with 24-hour security for a secure and focused work environment.    How to Apply    Excited to push the boundaries of advanced materials and manufacturing?
